Melrose Relieve CBD Cream: The Complete Spec Sheet

Melrose Relieve waterless CBD balm 100 ml jar held in an open hand, showing the 2,000 mg CBD per oz label

This page is the complete, plain-facts spec sheet for Melrose Relieve, our waterless CBD balm. It covers what is in the jar, how strong it is, how it is tested, where it is made, what it costs and how to use it. It is written for shoppers comparing products, for massage therapists and clinic owners deciding what to stock, and for anyone who wants the details in one place instead of spread across a product page. Every figure here comes from the printed label, the published lab reports or our store listing. Where we do not have a verified number, we say so rather than estimate.

Full ingredient list

This is the complete list as it appears on the Melrose Relieve product page, in label order:

  1. Shea Butter
  2. Beeswax
  3. Jojoba Oil
  4. Cocoa Butter
  5. CBD Broad Spectrum Extract
  6. Hemp Seed Oil
  7. Arnica Oil
  8. Calendula Oil
  9. Arrowroot Powder
  10. Menthol Crystals
  11. Lavender Essential Oil
  12. Peppermint Essential Oil
  13. Eucalyptus Essential Oil
  14. Rosemary Extract
  15. Raspberry Seed Oil
  16. Vanilla Essential Oil

A few notes for people reading the list carefully:

  • It is not vegan. Beeswax is the second ingredient. If you avoid animal-derived ingredients, this balm is not for you.
  • It contains menthol and mint-family oils. Menthol crystals, peppermint and eucalyptus give a noticeable cooling sensation and scent. People who dislike menthol, or who react to it, should skip it.
  • It contains botanicals some people are sensitive to. Arnica, calendula, lavender and other essential oils are common sensitivities. Check the list against anything you know you react to.
  • Hemp seed oil and CBD extract are different things. Hemp seed oil is pressed from the seeds and carries essentially no CBD. The CBD comes from the broad-spectrum extract. A label that lists only hemp seed oil is not a CBD product.

Strength: what "2,000 mg CBD per oz" means

The jar label states 2,000 mg CBD per oz. That is a concentration figure: how much CBD is in each ounce of balm. It is the number to compare when you look at other topicals, because jar sizes vary and a big total on a big jar can still mean a weak product.

We state strength the same way the label does, per ounce, and we do not publish a separate per-jar total on this page. If you want to compare brands that label per jar against brands that label per ounce, our guide to CBD cream strength, mg per oz vs mg per jar walks through the arithmetic with worked examples.

Because there is no water in the formula, the balm is a dense blend of butters, oils and wax. That is part of why the per-ounce concentration can sit where it does: water adds volume to creams and lotions without adding any CBD.

THC and spectrum

Melrose Relieve uses a broad-spectrum extract. Broad spectrum keeps several of the hemp plant's cannabinoids but has the THC removed. The label says 0% THC, and the published SC Labs cannabinoid report lists Total THC as not detected, with delta-9 THC, delta-8 THC and THCa each reported as ND. Alongside CBD, the report shows measurable CBG, CBDV, CBN and CBC.

"Not detected" means the lab found no THC above the smallest amount its method can measure. That is the honest meaning of any "0% THC" claim, and it is why we publish the report instead of asking you to take the label on trust. Our explainer on broad spectrum vs full spectrum vs isolate covers what each term means and how to read the THC rows yourself.

The balm is non-intoxicating. If you work somewhere with workplace testing, no brand can promise you a particular result, so check your employer's policy before using any hemp product.

Lab testing

Our current published reports come from SC Labs, an independent third-party laboratory. Two PDFs are linked from the lab results page:

  • Cannabinoid report. Lists each cannabinoid the lab measured, including CBD and the THC rows.
  • Certificate of analysis. Covers potency and microbial testing for the batch.

Each report names the lab, the sample and the date it was issued. If you are a practitioner who needs a copy for your own files, the PDFs are free to download and keep.

Texture, scent and finish

  • Texture: a solid balm in the jar that softens as you work it between your fingers. Arrowroot powder, a common balm ingredient for a less greasy feel, is part of the blend.
  • Scent: menthol, peppermint and eucalyptus, with lavender and vanilla essential oils also in the blend. There is no added synthetic fragrance.
  • Sensation: a cooling feel from the menthol.
  • Fabric: like any oil-based balm, it can mark fabric if it has not absorbed. Our guide on whether CBD balm stains clothes or sheets covers how to avoid and lift marks.

How to use it

  1. Start with clean, dry, unbroken skin.
  2. Take a small amount. Because the balm is waterless, a little covers more area than a lotion would.
  3. Warm it between your fingers and massage it into the area until it absorbs.
  4. Reapply as needed.
  5. Wash your hands afterwards, and keep it away from your eyes, lips and other sensitive areas. Menthol on fingertips is not pleasant in the eye.

If it is your first time using a product with these ingredients, patch test first: apply a small amount to the inside of your forearm and wait 24 hours. Stop using it if your skin reacts. If you are pregnant, nursing or taking medication, ask your physician before using any CBD product.

Store the jar closed, in a cool place away from direct heat. Butters and wax soften in a hot car or a sunny window.

Where it comes from

Melrose Relieve began inside Melrose Massage, our massage studio in Wenatchee, Washington. After more than 13 years of serving massage guests, our therapists wanted a CBD balm that met the standard they expect from anything used in their own sessions. Most formulas they tried were heavily diluted with water or contained ingredients they did not want, so they designed their own.

The formula was designed in Washington and is manufactured in small batches at a licensed facility in Colorado. We say that plainly because location claims on CBD products are often blurred: the design, the product decisions and the brand are local to Wenatchee, and production happens in Colorado. If you are in the area and want to see it in person, our guide to where to buy CBD cream in Wenatchee has the details.

What we do not claim

A spec sheet should be clear about its limits. Melrose Relieve is a topical cosmetic balm. We do not claim it addresses any medical condition, and nothing on this page is medical advice. We do not publish a figure for how long a jar lasts, because that depends entirely on how much you use and how often, and we would rather measure it properly than guess. Third-party testing on our published reports covers cannabinoid potency and microbial results; we only list the tests that appear on the reports you can download.
